Cacao During Pregnancy - My Personal Experience
Pregnancy is a magical time of transformation when the body undergoes an incredible change while creating new life.
It’s also a period when we become particularly mindful of what we put into our bodies.
As a long-time enthusiast of Ceremonial Cacao, I often receive questions from expectant mothers about the safety and benefits of drinking Cacao during pregnancy.
Today, I want to share my personal story and knowledge on this topic.
First Trimester – Time to Listen to Your Body
Despite having Cacao as my daily companion for 5 years, the first trimester of pregnancy brought a surprising change. My morning ritual with Bulletproof Cacao (recipe here >>>) suddenly stopped bringing me joy. My body was sending clear signals through nausea after consumption. This experience taught me the most important lesson: always listen to your body! Even if something has served us for years, during pregnancy, our body’s needs can change dramatically.
Return to Cacao
After a few months’ break, I decided to experiment with a small cup of morning Cacao. To my joy, both my body and little John in my belly reacted enthusiastically! From that moment, Cacao once again became part of my daily routine, bringing numerous benefits.

Ceremonial Experience
While pregnant, I continued to lead Cacao ceremonies, adjusting the dose to my needs. It was a beautiful experience of connecting with the baby through a conscious ritual. Cacao can deepen the bond with the developing life and create space for deeper reflection during this special time.
Cacao can become a wonderful companion during pregnancy – after all, it’s a time of the greatest life ceremony, which is creating new life. However, remember that what works for one person might not work for another. The most important thing is listening to your body’s needs and making conscious decisions.
