How did we end up working with Dominican Cacao ?
You know that saying, “Nothing happens by chance”? Well, it’s no coincidence that we now have the opportunity to embark on a virtual journey to the Dominican Republic, to take a closer look at how Cacao is grown, harvested, processed, and also meet the people who are involved in this process.
I’m really excited for you to meet Yluminada and her family! You’ll definitely enjoy the Dominican cuisine, music, and the openness of the people (joy flows through their veins!).

SUMMARY:
At the end of April 2023, we set off on a journey to the Dominican Republic to learn about the process of Cacao production, starting from the Cacao bean. We were graciously hosted by Yluminada and her family at the Cacao Florencio Ortega farm in Piragua.
We learned many things about Cacao and a lot about human relationships, culture, cuisine, religion, and finding joy in life.
We want to share this firsthand information because we feel like ambassadors for Dominican Cacao here in Europe. After all, Cacao is mostly about the people who are involved in its production…
